Mid Century Modern – Home in Oak Cliff

Project Highlights:

This new Mid Century Modern residence sits on the existing foundation of the original house from the 1960s, which was destroyed in a fire. It bears no resemblance to the original. The original house was 2 story with no front porch and bland curb appeal. The owner wanted to change to a single story home with a front porch. It was to be built on a tight budget, using only the insurance proceeds. The neighborhood was originally developed in the 1950’s, and has a nice stock of Mid Century houses; this house was designed to fit into that feel.

The interior is open, with the Living space flowing into the Dining, and the Dining flowing into the Kitchen. In addition to the Master Bedroom, there are also two Secondary Bedrooms. This Mid Century Modern project shows that a clean, well finished home can be had with a very tight budget.
