French Chateau – Preston Hollow Classic
Project Highlights:
A new Residence, designed in a French Chateau style. Exterior is cut Texas Limestone, stucco, with a salvaged slate roof. The Garages “stables” are in a soft brick.
The symmetrical front elevation has the Entry on center, Living and Dining on the right, Library and Media on left. Beyond is the Family room, opening onto a Veranda that opens onto a simple, rectangular pool, with the Guest house / Cabana beyond. All is symmetrical along various axis, until you are in the rear yard, looking back on the house, were it becomes looser. The site layout was worked in around numerous existing trees.
French Chateau
Recessed in the rear yard is a sports court, in Duke blue. The Master Suite is on the First Level, and there is a tornado resistant room also on the first level. Secondary Bedrooms, an Office, a Workout Room, and a second Media room are on the second level. The resulting home is one where formality in the Architecture and Interior Design is evident, without being intimidating, fussy or overly showy.
