NEW BANK HEADQUARTERS INTERIOR DESIGN
Project Highlights:
This Bank was founded in 1890, and the goal of this new building’s interior design was to reinforce its integral and longstanding place as a pillar of the community. The client wanted to let the community know they are here to stay, but also implement new banking technologies designed to improve customer experience. Because of this, the interior design was driven by a desire for both a traditional, timeless feel, and the need for a modern, functional bank.
The interior is designed to recall the era of the founding of the Bank and project a welcoming feel, but have modern elements providing the most efficient service to customers, as well as attracting younger generations to become new clients. The vintage elements and materials reinforce the history, and the space design provides for an active work environment, modern technology, and good “traffic” flow.
The interior has mosaic tile flooring at the entry, reminiscent of old building entries, as well as wood flooring in the other main areas. There are stamped metal ceilings and dark wood trim. 1890s vault doors were salvaged from the existing location and restored. Traditional oak seating was tested and selected for comfort and durability. The art program for this project included framed historic photos, vintage pieces, and reproduction maps in the interior spaces to reinforce the idea that the Bank has been and will continue to be a part of this local community.
