A new Residence, in a clean, cool Mediterranean style. Site has a dry creek bed across the front and two new bridges provide access to the home. We designed the site and home to retain as many trees as possible around in this ravine and in the front yard of the home.
The Exterior of the house is a shelly Limestone, and stucco, with a clay tile roof. The limestone carries throughout the house. The Owners have a large family, so the house is designed with entertaining as a primary function, this home has a large dining room that can seat 30, a large kitchen that is designed both as a gathering place for the family, and with catering in mind. The Kitchen is located to have easy access to the porte-cochère, to allow the homeowner to easily bring in groceries, and for catering access.
The Master Suite is on the first level, and the Bath and Closet area have back access directly from the Garage, to ease the loading of bags in and out of the house. The Master Bedroom has a private exterior veranda that opens to the Pool Deck. The house is planned in a “U” shape, around a central Courtyard, with a pool, and green space in the center.
One wing of the house has a large workout area that opens to a sports court. The topography of the site allowed for a basement, that Basement houses the Media Room, and mechanical systems for the house. The location of both of these functions there reduces noise in the balance of the house. The house includes separate studies for both the husband and wife.
